Central Intelligence Agency. Studies in Intelligence: Website Index, 2006.
94 pages. https://www.odci.gov/csi/kent_csi/author-combine.htm
"Studies in Intelligence" is the CIA's internal semi-academic journal.
This index was found on the web in June, 2006. The annotated index entries
at that site are linked to full-text versions of each article. The "csi"
in the above URL stands for the Center for the Study of Intelligence at
CIA, which "seeks to promote the study, debate, and understanding of the
role of intelligence in American society." Judging from the annotations,
the articles are autobiographical annecdotes, techniques for collection
and evaluation of intelligence, reflections on tradecraft, and essays on
specific incidents in the history of U.S. intelligence.
The NameBase data is simply a name index of the CSI's index, with the
pagination assigned by us as we printed a copy for our library. Multiple
page listings from this source are mostly due to cross-referencing in the
CSI index, although some authors have also contributed multiple articles.
To find out more about a name from this index, researchers can go directly
to the CIA's site and retrieve the relevant article. An unannotated index of
"Studies in Intelligence" was also made available by the National Archives
years ago, and covers the period 1955-1992. Although that one remains in
NameBase, it is probably not needed, since this new index covers 1955-2004
and apparently includes everything from the old index.
